Monterrey, Mexico Teen Idol Alan Wheeler has been very busy since our amazingly popular introductory article was published last February. That article received more comments than any article that was ever published on this blog and today still holds the record! None of the credit lies in the authorship of the article, but rather in the overwhelming support that Alan receives from his many fans and followers!
Recently I caught up on all his adventures and activities which I am now overjoyed to share in this update!’
Alan’s father, Robert, reported today, that Alan has been kept extremely busy enjoying many performance opportunities and always seems to be booked with a gig resulting in much traveling!
Back in May, Alan and his father visited LA for a week to meet with some industry representatives. He reported that the visit was not only interesting but productive as well. They hope to hear BIG NEWS very soon that they can share with us!
This past week, Alan and his sister Chris have been in Los Angeles attending the Hollywood School of Rock Music Camp which wraps up with a Feature Showcase at “THE MINT” on Pico Blvd in LA. All the leaders of the entertainment industry have been invited, it promises to be QUITE THE SHOW!
Alan published two new videos on YouTube in May. “Sleeping With The Light On” was published on May 13. This video was featured here in a write up and continues to grace Alan’s page on our sister site “Rivenmaster.Net”
The video doesn’t follow the story line of the song exactly, but very near. It is an emotional piece about a loved one that is lost. Alan more than demonstrates his tremendous acting ability in this music video, showing expression and true emotion throughout the song. At the same time he eloquently relates this story of deep loss, which results in the need to now sleep with a light on!
Filmed 100% in Monterrey Mexico in the Historical Society recognized “Ecuela Superior de Danza y Música”, and in the Luis Elizondo Auditorium (from the Tecnológico of Monterrey),made this music video both visually attractive and captivating. The overall production was exceptionally well done and choreographed beautifully!
This past Memorial Day weekend “I FOR YOU” was published. This work was dedicated to the men and women of the armed forces that have fought to keep us free from oppression to pursue our dreams. Filmed completely in the Luis Elizondo Auditorium, Alan projects the love and respect for a father away at war, and the longing to have him safely back home. I simply loved this song! Alan really shows his tenderness in his interpretation of this song and his upper register is showcased beautifully carrying you away in its rapturous melody!
Each video has received wonderful response from fans, and Alan is very thankful to the fans as well as to the authors that composed such touching music for him to interpret!
Television appearances have also kept Alan busy over the past few months. Mostly Alan has been appearing on the local program “Los Manitos” in Monterrey. In April he made three different appearances, two in May and another two in June. In all seven appearances, Alan participated in skits as well as sung different songs from his CD “Préstame Atención“. Most of the shows were taped in front of a live studio audience, but several were performed on location in front of live audiences at different locations around the Monterrey Metropolitan Area.
In addition, Alan made appearances at several different local venues, he had showcases at Plaza Fiesta San Agustin, The Citadel, and Plaza Fiesta Anahuac. In August he will be holding showcases on Friday the 5th at Sendero Apodaca and Sendero Escobedo – here in Monterrey. If you live in the Monterrey area you will want to be sure to set your calendar now to see Alan at one of these live events!
Of course, Alan’s weekly USTREAM program which is transmitted every Friday evening at 8 PM Central time, continues to be a great success with Alan giving shout outs in addition to singing and entertaining his web audience in a very special way!
Many people have commented that these programs are all in Spanish! Well, mostly they are, – since the majority of Alan’s fan base is Spanish Speaking. However, as his English speaking fans join in, the language becomes mixed. Sometimes it’s a little confusing, but mostly it is just FUN, with Alan and Chris being crazy, answering fans’ questions and singing songs from Alan’s CD as well as other songs by other artists that they enjoy as well as taking fan requests. They also have frequent visits from their mother and father as well as Paul the Chihuahua, and who could forget Perry the Platypus!
Alan has also been working on some new songs in English which he hopes to have ready soon! We will be sure to let you know when they’re released and where to get them!
Other news of note – Alan’s Domain Site has been updated to include English pages as well as Spanish; the content is the same, so no worries about missing out if you only speak/read English! I would like to think he did this just for me but now I have shared it with all of you!
Alan stays hard at work developing new music and projects, so stay tuned, certainly there will be BIG and EXCITING news just around the corner!
And we plan to be one of the first to tell you all about it!
Keep up the great work Alan! You can count on this site for continue support and on The Skykid.com Radio to continue to play all your music!
