Daniel Shaw is quickly becoming known in Australia for being one of the busiest buskers’s in the country! However, this past summer, Daniel has taken his talent worldwide on a Sizzling Summer Spectacular Tour.
Even before I introduce Daniel on this site last June, I had been following his career. Daniel continues to amaze everyone with his new original songs and extremely well produced and creative videos.

Only now have things settled down long enough to bring you an update about Daniel’s amazing International Summer Tour. This amazing adventure covered thousands of miles with Daniel performing and amassing many new fans in far reaching places. Traveling from his native Australia, to New Zealand, the US, Canada, then onward to Europe and back, Daniel demonstrated that he is more than just an Australian Busker but an International one.
This past week I asked Daniel to share some of the highlights of his tour with us. He graciously supplied me with the following.
In my last article about the Uher Brothers it was mentioned that Tyler Uher was one of 20 finalists that competed last year in a Junior Idol Contest for a well known local theater company. I just received the announcement that Tyler was again chosen as one of the 20 finalists to compete in this year’s live competition!
This year’s Rialto Idol Junior singing competition is scheduled for Saturday, November 26th at the Rialto Square Theater. The competition run by the Rialto Square Theaterin Joliet, Illinois, is also sponsored in part by STAR 96.7 Radio.
The live competition for ages 5 to 15 years old will be held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rialto Square Theater. They also have an adult Idol competition for ages 16 and over that will be held later that evening.

The competition has also added something new this year – “text to vote†– The audience members will be able to text their vote of their favorite contestant. Each contestant will be singing one song. In the event of a tie, a sing off will determine the winner with each contestant singing an alternate song.
This year’s competition takes place during the ComEd Festival of Trees week of activities that runs November 21 through 27 at the Rialto Square Theater. It’s a weeklong extravaganza that features more than 60 trees and wreaths on display, decorated by the area’s premium designers and sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Guests will have the opportunity to view these displays as well as place bids to have one of the fully decorated trees delivered to their homes in time for the holidays.
