Sam Verlinden awarded role in “Peter Pan & MacBeth”

Sam has been staying extremely busy lately not just in the recording studio but also gearing up for another great year on stage. This weekend Sam begins Lead Camp for his theatre group for which he was recently awarded the role as John in the stage production of “Peter Pan”. This production is currently scheduled for Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of May.

Sam has been staying extremely busy lately not just in the recording studio but also gearing up for another great year on stage.

This week he is actually visiting his Capital City “Wellington” for school camp and will be making a short stop in his home town as well.  Then back home this weekend to begin Lead Camp for his theatre group for which he was recently awarded the role as John in the stage production of “Peter Pan”.  This production is currently scheduled for Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of May.
Sam has also just been offered a role in the local University Stage 2 production of  MacBeth this coming June- playing MacDuff’s son. From what I hear the second roll could be his doing in on stage….  No! not his acting, but from what I know about MacBeth; MacDuff’s son does not live a very long and happy life……  Be sure to keep checking back for updates on both of these events as the pictures and reviews start to roll in.
While I have been promoting Sam’s new original song “Break These Walls” and it has been winning first place in the Top 10 songs played on “Theskykid Radio” for the past two weeks I have not yet featured it here in an update!

This truly is a landmark for Sam and his very first ever original song!  I for one love it and Sam has such a smooth delivery for this ballad.  When we think of Sam Verlinden we usually think about “Michael Jackson” style music.  However Sam has broken his traditional style of singing with this fantastic new number and has created quite a stir, especially among his closest fans for which I am proud to be one!

Sam is also very busy with this new band practicing and performing with them on a regular basis. In fact this Sunday Sam will be doing a gig for the Down Syndrome annual fundraiser at 1:00 p.m.

In addition to all these things going on Sam was also invited to participate in the next You-Tube collaboration event for “We are the World” which I will bring to you here when it has been accomplished.

To close the article today I have decided to bring to you a recent impromptu singing session while Sam was practicing with the new band at his home. Sam often sings with is good friend Hannah Elley and this rendition of “Hallelujah” was done superbly.  Sam and Hannah together seem to become one harmonious voice with each one not trying to outdo the other but complementing each other’s voice in complete unity!

Mikeboymaster “Germany’s Boy Master of Music!”

You-Tube singer songwriter Mikeboymaster is an amazing 12 year old from Germany.  Five months after Meik began his keyboard lessons he announced that he had written his own song including a melody. While that may sound incredible Meik has written a total of 26 songs to date with each song showing improvement. Meik receives great comments on his You-Tube Channel for his original writings and deservedly so! I find his ambition and ability for writing to be second to none for his age.

Meik or (Mike), who will turn 13 in May, started his You-Tube Channel back in March of 2008. However it was only last fall that I first discovered him. I think what kept bringing me back was his unusual sound and his originality.
While Meik is just starting to stretch his wings as a young artists, he has already shown that he has a tremendous talent for writing music and a most curious but soothing voice which delivers a very unique experience to the listener. When asking his dad about his voice he said the following:

“His voice sounds a little more grown up than most 12 year olds. But we let him make his own music and try not to influence him”.

Mikes interest in music blossomed quite suddenly. His dad told me that Meik actually showed more interest in playing soccer and played regularly on a team. But he often would listen to and sing along with the music of Tokyo Hotel.
“My wife and I were surprised to hear Meik sing because neither of us are musically talented, yet Meik had been given a gift that needed to be expressed.”

When Meik was 10 years old, his mother purchased a keyboard for him. Mike was very happy and enthused with this gift and immediately started to play it. After only a few weeks he was already showing signs of a natural talent with music just emanating from the keys. He then asked his parents if he could have lessons and his parents quickly agreed to began his fist keyboard lessons at school.

Each of his songs tells a story and is very much a part of who Meik is.

Meik plans to take his time developing his unique talent for writing and singing but with each new video he demonstrates an ability to perform and express himself in a very unique fashion.

When asked about his You-Tube name he replied; “I want to be called Mikeboymaster right now but should I start recording professionally I will use my real name.”
Meik has great ambitions to become a professional recording artist and song writer! Without a doubt he has more than mastered the writing skills and his latest two original songs are making a big splash all over the Net.

Meik continues with his love for playing soccer and also enjoys skiing but this is one very unique voice that will not stay a mystery for long. Your going to want to keep one eye and ear turned in the direction of Europe because Meik will not stay boymaster for long!


Watch in amazement his latest video for his new song Generations.  Meik shares with us more than words and a story in this production,  but he empties is heart and delivers his soul.
