Of all the talent that I’m privileged to write about I especially enjoy keeping you up to date about my young friend Tallan Latz!
Tallan is not only an exceptionally talented musician and guitarist but also a great young personality who is able to jam with some of the biggest and best blues guitarists in the music industry.
Tallan lights up a stage just by being there, but when he starts to play you have to stand back in amazement that this youngster not only can perform but make sounds come from his instrument that only the most knowledgeable and skilled artists can match or keep up to.
I so much enjoy watching the pros faces when they watch and play along with Tallan! Chord for chord and riff for riff…..

It’s been a long time since my last update for Tallan and every day the searches for him continue to climb here on Rivenmaster’s Place! Readers young and old are hunting for new tidbits about this amazing blues wonder! I have not written, only because Tallan has been so very busy. Since my last writing, Tallan has been doing many concerts, shows, and events such as the one held back in September.

Of all the young artists that grace this site I believe Tallan Latz to be one of the most talented young showman that I have ever witness perform. I think my being a native of the Upper Peninsula has also given me an overwhelming joy to know that this youngster with such outstanding talent was born and now resides close to where I use to live.
Talan’s last article appeared here on February 19th announcing his winning of the WAMI Rising Star Award for 2010. Since that time, Tallan has been performing for a number of benefits for children with cancer, trying to raise awareness and money. When I first introduced Tallan Latz here at Rivenmaster’s Place back in December, I knew that this kid was going to be more than an outstanding showman and guitar playing genius! Tallan Latz has been making more than ripples in the pool of talented young musicians. He’s been creating Tidal Waves in the ocean of success!
Recently Tallan received endorsement deals with PRS Guitars, Shure Microphones, Ultrasone Headphones and Mogami Cables. And if that’s not big enough news about this young 10 year old musician, Tallan was just nominated for a WAMI Awards for Rising Star of the year.
WAMI is Wisconsin’s equalvent to the Grammys. So kind of a big deal expecailly since it is usually adults up for these awards.
There is no doubt in my mind that Tallan deserves more than a nomination as he truly is a sensational young guitarist and blues vocalist. Nothing will surprise me what comes from all this, in fact in about 6 years we could be looking at our next American Idol! I think it’s about time that that show got a talented Blues / Rocker! This boy can bring it all!

While enjoying this past season of Americas Got Talent I watched a young boy, soon to be 10 years old rock a guitar like Jimmy Hendrix reincarnated. But, due to the fact that I don’t believe in reincarnation I realized that America had just stumbled on to their next big guitar talent.
Being a Yooper, (a born resident of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan) and having Wisconsin as my second home, I was delighted to find out that this little guy was from a town that I visited on a bi-weekly basis for over a year. “Elkhorn Wisconsin!” I gasped “really?” “Wow! Brett Favre move over a new Idol has been born for Wisconsin!”
Tallan Latz, who just turned 10 this past September 22nd, is probably one of the best guitar players in the United States for his age. Receiving his first musical instrument, a drum kit, at the age of three and then playing acoustic guitar at age four, now at 10, demonstrates a unique ability to play like no tomorrow. When Tallan was five, a video of Joe Satriani had a major impact on the boy and he declared “That’s what I want to do.” By the time he was eight, he had played on-stage with performers the likes of Jackson Browne and Les Paul.

Tallan is not just a guitar player but also a singer/songwriter.
He has even written a song for his Mother “who he called his hero” and blessed her with a dedication at the Elkhorn Random Acts of Kindness Fundraiser held November 7th of this year.

Sam Santiago has made giant strides this year in his career having done numerous performances in and around San Diego CA and across the US.
He appeared on WZZM TV in Grand Rapids Michigan this past summer and continues to be requested to perform for large church congregations, birthday parties, athletic events and has even been invited all the way to the Philippians for Television and concert performances.

In Dalton's words, here is the inspiration behind "Whisper":
"My grandmother who died one year ago, told me stories about my grandfather when he was serving in the military. She said he was very funny and found ways to find humor about all the things happening in the military. This made people laugh and kept them happy. My grandmother used to say she would do everything she could to support the military (including being born on the 4th of July--her birthday!). She told me stories of being in Germany, Saudi Arabia and other places making lots of classic American type food like chili and stews and would invite lots of troops to her house for home-cooked meals. She said she tried to create a home away from home for them while they were overseas.
When I sing "Whisper", I think of my grandmother and how dedicating this song to something she felt so strongly about would make her proud."

We know you have many entertainment choices and we’re just glad you gave us some interest. Quite simply, all of these things you’ve done have made our year a great one. We can never reflect enough on the grace God has given us. We had such a great year in 2011. Some of our blessings include:
We recorded and released our first full length CD ‘All This Time’. We co-wrote many of the songs and worked with some extraordinary music people.
