Sam Verlinden recently completed his last performance as John in Peter Pan presented by The National Youth Theater Company (NYTC) this musicaladaptation of the play by Sir James M Barrie was directed by: Glen Pickering and James Doy and Choreographed by Nikki Ring.
The show received great reviews from the first showing with special remarks included about the great harness techniques used on the flying scenes.
Sam Verlinden, as “John” was outstanding in the opening scene showing off his dancing skills waltzing with his co-actor Phoebe Jasper who played Wendy. In a review written by Melanie Williams she described Sam’s portrayal of John nothing other than strong, confident and outstanding.She went on to describe in detail the flying scene:
Sam is probably one of the most well rounded teenagers that I know. He is so multi-talented that I’m not sure how everyone can keep up to all the adventures taking place in his young life!
When I was 12 the most I had going was school, paper-route, marching band, my citizens band radio hobby, and hanging out with the guys! Sam on the other hand not only finds time to juggle his school work, hobbies, outdoor activities, family, and friends, but adds to this at least two big stage musical or dramatic productions, practicing with his band, busking on almost a weekly basis, singing performances, special gig fundraisers and charity events, singing with his good friend Hannah, recording studio sessions, countless yearly repeat performances and last but not least his passion for rugby! Whew! Now I’m tired, how about you?
Sam has an extraordinary ability to adapt to any challenge giving him like his latest role for Peter Pan where he needed to learn how to Waltz. Now how many of you guys out there can do that? With the Peter Pan rehearsals in full swing for next month’s production Sam is also rehearsing for yet another role at the same time. This week marked the beginning of rehearsals for Mac-Beth and he is very excited about his small but important role. I guess you could say this role will be the death of Sam! LOL!
All joking aside Sam is not just one or two dimensional but you could say he is universal. An all star in just about every way! We know Sam will be knocking them dead on both the stage and with his singing career and I believe with all my heart that some day he will fulfill his dreams of playing rugby for a professional team. I’m saving my money Sam; because I want to be there the day you sing your National Anthem and kick off the ball for your team. I just hope you have the time to do all those autographs of records, pictures, rugby balls, and tee-shirts!

Sam has been staying extremely busy lately not just in the recording studio but also gearing up for another great year on stage.

This week he is actually visiting his Capital City “Wellington” for school camp and will be making a short stop in his home town as well. Then back home this weekend to begin Lead Camp for his theatre group for which he was recently awarded the role as John in the stage production of “Peter Pan”. This production is currently scheduled for Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of May. Sam has also just been offered a role in the local University Stage 2 production of MacBeth this coming June- playing MacDuff’s son. From what I hear the second roll could be his doing in on stage…. No! not his acting, but from what I know about MacBeth; MacDuff’s son does not live a very long and happy life…… Be sure to keep checking back for updates on both of these events as the pictures and reviews start to roll in. While I have been promoting Sam’s new original song “Break These Walls” and it has been winning first place in the Top 10 songs played on “Theskykid Radio” for the past two weeks I have not yet featured it here in an update!
This truly is a landmark for Sam and his very first ever original song! I for one love it and Sam has such a smooth delivery for this ballad. When we think of Sam Verlinden we usually think about “Michael Jackson” style music. However Sam has broken his traditional style of singing with this fantastic new number and has created quite a stir, especially among his closest fans for which I am proud to be one!
Sam is also very busy with this new band practicing and performing with them on a regular basis. In fact this Sunday Sam will be doing a gig for the Down Syndrome annual fundraiser at 1:00 p.m.
In addition to all these things going on Sam was also invited to participate in the next You-Tube collaboration event for “We are the World” which I will bring to you here when it has been accomplished.
To close the article today I have decided to bring to you a recent impromptu singing session while Sam was practicing with the new band at his home. Sam often sings with is good friend Hannah Elley and this rendition of “Hallelujah” was done superbly. Sam and Hannah together seem to become one harmonious voice with each one not trying to outdo the other but complementing each other’s voice in complete unity!

Sam Santiago Set’s New Goals For YouTube!
Sam Santiago has made giant strides this year in his career having done numerous performances in and around San Diego CA and across the US.
He appeared on WZZM TV in Grand Rapids Michigan this past summer and continues to be requested to perform for large church congregations, birthday parties, athletic events and has even been invited all the way to the Philippians for Television and concert performances.
While Sam is still doing many cover songs he is just waiting for the opportunity to show what he can do with original work!

Dalton is paying tribute to all the servicemen who are returning home after their long deployment services! He is donating all the the proceeds from is latest song "Whisper" to the USO.
In Dalton's words, here is the inspiration behind "Whisper":
"My grandmother who died one year ago, told me stories about my grandfather when he was serving in the military. She said he was very funny and found ways to find humor about all the things happening in the military. This made people laugh and kept them happy. My grandmother used to say she would do everything she could to support the military (including being born on the 4th of July--her birthday!). She told me stories of being in Germany, Saudi Arabia and other places making lots of classic American type food like chili and stews and would invite lots of troops to her house for home-cooked meals. She said she tried to create a home away from home for them while they were overseas.
When I sing "Whisper", I think of my grandmother and how dedicating this song to something she felt so strongly about would make her proud."

As we start 2012, we want to take time to drop you a message. We cannot thank you enough for your support, prayers, purchases, applause, comments, shares, etc over the past year. We know you have many entertainment choices and we’re just glad you gave us some interest. Quite simply, all of these things you’ve done have made our year a great one. We can never reflect enough on the grace God has given us. We had such a great year in 2011. Some of our blessings include:
We recorded and released our first full length CD ‘All This Time’. We co-wrote many of the songs and worked with some extraordinary music people.
