It was Feb 21st that I first introduced Canadian born Arden Reimer here on Rivenmaster’s Place. It is with great delight that I can finally bring you up to date with some wonderful things that have been transpiring for this amazing young vocalist.
Not only has Arden continued to perfect his vocal abilities, but he has maintained nearly all his upper register with a sound so rich and pure it can only be described as angelic! All I can say to that is: “Hallelujah”
Recently graduating from Grade 7, Arden, sang the Olympic theme song” I Believe” with a friend from school. In addition, he sang “Somewhere over the Rainbow” accompanied by his ukulele for a talent show at school. Arden, now 13, has begun a new school year in Grade 8 and has become increasingly enthusiastic about starting Drama. He plans to join the Glee club at school and hopefully be awarded a lead role in this year’s musical.
The Reimer family spent nearly all of their summer at a summer home in Washington State. While there, Arden enjoyed lots of golfing and swimming. Meanwhile back home in Vancouver, he was chosen to sing at the P.N.E., (Vancouver’s annual Exhibition). Arden made it all the way to the semi-finals in the age 13-18 year old category singing “Whataya Want From Me” thrilling the crowd of listeners!
Arden was also honored to sing at his first wedding with over 300 people in attendance. He masterfully sang accompanying himself on his ukulele and using backtracks.
The big news which I have been dying to share is, Arden appeared on National T.V. in a show called “The Next Star“.
Arden stated;“this was truly an amazing experience”.
While there is much more that cannot be shared at this time, I will keep you up to date as more information is released!
So, “People Get Ready”!
Arden is currently working on writing his first song which has been an incredible learning experience! Not only is he learning how to write a song, but he is also developing his composing skills, piecing the entire number together from start to finish. He told me, his compositions start when he hears a melody in his head, followed by writing lyrics to fit the melody. He hadn’t fully realized that he had this amazing ability, but once he started writing down the lyrics, it dawned on him that the melody was already there to go with the words. He is very excited about this endeavor and hopes to share this new song with all of us in a month or so.
I’m extremely happy to see that Arden is now developing beyond cover songs. The true mark of a musician is not just singing or playing well, but performing and branching out beyond the ordinary. Arden is truly extraordinary, and this new found talent exemplifies that!
Arden plays his ukulele non-stop showing his creative talent by performing different cover songs changing them up to fit the ukulele. His ukulele teacher has been assisting Arden by writing out the chords for the songs that he is performing.
His mom exclaimed, “It really is amazing to hear a song from the past totally redone with the ukulele, live”.
This winter Arden will compete in talent shows and sing for a few local charity events. He also hopes to make it to a concert this fall to see one of his favorite musical influences, Hall and Oates.
Arden Reimer is destined for stardom! This is one young man that the moss will not be growing underfoot! Arden’s determination for success coupled with his extreme talent will soon take him to places that only dreams are made of!
Good luck Arden, we wish you the very best in your climb and are backing you all the way!
